A beautiful Lenox inn located in the heart of historic Lenox village, the Cornell Inn is just up the road from Tanglewood. A three-guesthouse Inn, our buildings date back to 1777. Originally built as a family home by the Cornell family, the inn's Main House (c. 1888) is a Victorian with 10 unique guest rooms. Adjacent to Kennedy Park, a town park with trails for hiking, biking, walking, running and skiing, The Main House also houses Duffy's Pub, a private pub for our houseguests. A full, wonderful breakfast is included each morning and is served in the Main House. Many of our guests return year after year, and many recommend us to their friends. The Cornell Inn is open year-round and welcomes corporate guests. Now featuring WiFi, we also have a laptop computer in the pub which is for guests to use at no charge.

The Carriage House, circa 1889, is decorated in a country primitive style. The two Carriage House loft suites, Mary Todd and Edith each offer a full kitchen, dining table, and a sitting room, making them perfect for long-term guests. Less expensive than most seasonal rentals in the area, our suites offer the added value of daily housekeeping and breakfast. Off-season long-term rentals are also welcome in the loft suites and are less expensive than many other Berkshire rentals. The other Carriage House rooms are decorated in earth tones and feature Americana, painted cupboards, vintage toys and various other bits of traditional New England charm. Just a few paces from the Main House, the Carriage House offers a variety of guest rooms, each with a style all their own.

Just beyond the garden and waterfall lies the MacDonald House, a private family home built in 1777, with 10 guest rooms, each decorated in the Colonial style. Two of the MacDonald House rooms are wheelchair-accessible and feature both audible and visual alarm systems. Most of the rooms have a small refrigerator. Nine of the rooms offer a corner fireplace for fall and winter use, and a deck for the spring and summer. Original corner beams and floorboards help bring the history of the home to life. The home of State Representative Edward MacDonald during the 1870's, this home still bears his name and is decorated in the Colonial style. Two of the rooms bear the names of Edward MacDonald's daughters, while the rest are named after literary characters written about locally but literary greats Edith Wharton, Nathaniel Hawthorne and Herman Melville.

Tanglewood and many other cultural activities define the beautiful Berkshire summers. In addition to Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, The Berkshire Theatre Festival, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Shakespeare and Company and countless other cultural attractions call the Berkshires home. Fall foliage also attracts visitors from all over the globe as the tiers of magnificent Berkshire terrain transform into a canvas of spectacular colors. Typically at it's peak by Columbus Day, the fall foliage in Lenox, and all of the Berkshires, varies from year to year. Centrally located, this is a great "home base" for leaf peepers hoping to tour New England to see Mother Nature at what is, perhaps, her finest hour. The Cornell Inn is the perfect place to stay!

During the summer, enjoy the front porch, with white wicker furniture and gorgeous plants. Let the inn's gardens, waterfall and koi pond soothe your senses while enjoying the decks and common areas. The warm summer sun dances through the trees, offering many ideal spots to relax. Free high-speed wireless internet also enables guests to sit at an umbrella-covered table and use your laptop computer. During the winter, make yourself comfortable in front of the living room fireplace or by the fireplace in your room. Each day, our private pub is open for houseguests. The Inn's common area's are all very welcoming. The Cornell Inn is adjacent to Kennedy Park, a six hundred acre park with many trails for hiking, biking, walking, running, skiing and snowshoeing. Bikes, snowshoes, kayaks and cross country skis can be rented nearby at the Arcadian Shop.
